I recently acquired a nice load of old sewing patterns from the 40's to the 70's, most of which will be going up in the shop soon! Here is a little sample...
Woo-hoo!
SO! To celebrate the re-opening of Cozy Green House Artworks on Etsy, I am going to do a vintage pattern giveaway here on my blog. There will be three different prizes you can win...
Prize no. 1: Simplicity 1668
This pattern dates back to 1946. The scalloped edges in view 1 are absolutely to die for! The pattern is complete, excepting the waistline stay piece, which can be easily replicated. Size 18/B36.
Prize no. 2: McCall 7221
This lovely day dress pattern dates back to 1948. Size 12/B30
Prize no.3: McCall's 7573
Ok, I'm pretty sure most of you will not be into the strange jumpsuit/overalls on the left. The play suit on the right, however...pretty darn cute! This pattern is from the early 90's, I believe.
RULES: You don't have to do anything fancy to enter--you simply must be a follower of this blog, and leave a comment on this post noting which pattern you would like to win and why! I will pick a winner at random for each prize on Saturday, June 4th. Be sure to tune in on the day of the drawing--I will have instructions on how to claim your prize if you won!
Have a fantastic week! Revel in the springtime!

LUCKY! That load of patterns is amazing!
I'm totally in love with the first one you are giving away. And it's my size! I love 40's dresses, but the ones I find in stores aren't always flattering on me. That's why I love making them, I can make a few adjustments to the pattern without feeling guilty about cutting into a true vintage dress!
Wow, I love both the first and second pattern! I'd be happy to win either, but I'm leaning toward the second as a favorite. And now I'm off to check out the new store!
Dear Bessie,
I'm crazy about n° 1!
Love,
Sofie
Hi...I'm a new follower (thanks to Sew Retro) and would love to win Prize no. 1: Simplicity 1668
I love that style and have the perfect vintage fabric waiting to become that dress! Thanks for the opportunity. Mary
I would like to win dress No. 1 Simplicity 1668. I really like the style of the dress and its the right size for me :-)
I'm new to sewing and would like to tackle that scalloped collar.
I'm a new follower (sent over here from sew retro) and while I really like the first two patterns, I'd love to win no 3, since it's adorable and would be perfect for this time of year!
Following through Google, came over from Sew Retro.
I need that first Simplicity one! I've been wanting to make a scalloped edge someting for awhile. A dress would be perfection. Thank you!
Hello! I love dress #2, and congrats on your awesome pattern score! I am a current follower. Thanks for the opportunity :)
Hi! What great patterns! I would love to be entered for Prize no. 1! It happens to be just my size! I'd also like to recreate that chevron effect on view 2 (: Thanks!
Allie
neat!
Hi! That pile of patterns makes me drool, haha! Wish I could find piles like that hiding here in Sweden :) Anyway, about the giveaway patterns, I love both number one and two, but number one is in my size already, and very very cute, so I'll hope for that one!
Wow, I have some serious pattern envy!! The first dress pattern is my favorite.
I love the first pattern! I don't have any dresses from that far back, and they're both stunning. I have a perfect green/blue fabric for the one on the right, I think... :)
P.S. I also love your percolator from last week's post!
I *love* #1- as you point out, the scalloped neckline is to die for. #2 is wonderful, too, though.
Hello - thanks for your giveaway, I found your blog through Sew Retro. Your recent pattern haul looks amazing.
If I win I would like Pattern 1, the scalloped detail is beautiful.
Ooooooh, I want Simplicity 1668 bad! Adorable!
It is really hard to choose but I think the jumpsuit pattern is just too cute!
Hazàel is crazy about a-lines (I have no idea what that means), and, since she's not aware of my doing this, I say she'd look lovely in number 2.
Though, number 1 is pretty snazzy as well.
Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks!
Such a fun giveaway. I love the first pattern from 1946 and it is close to my size. I can see myself in a dress like this.
The first one, Its really cute, and would make a prefect summer dress. That box full of patterns makes me jealous, good luck with the reopening of your etsy shop!
WOW!!!! so many patterns!!!
Well, now I am your follower and I hope to be the lucky one!! =)
I love the second pattern! It's my size and I love the square neck :-D
Ok, I'm a follower now! I LOVE number 1 but number 2 is pretty darn cute too!
I'd love to have number 1! It's so cute. I hope I win. I have been dying to try something scalloped.
OOO I would love the win the first one - I've been on the hunt for a simple 1940's dress pattern - this is my size and would look great in the 40's rayon I have stashed away....Elise

I would love to win the fist dress - so very cure and still perfectly wearable today!
Like the majority of the commenters I love the first pattern. Yes, the scallopes are great BUT I also love the stripe/chevron pattern too. Something I'd like to tackle!

Ohhh lovely patterns!
I'd like to go for No. 2, Please. It's got a nice neckline that's not seen to often.
Ooooh I would love to win that first one. I'm on a big 1940s Housedress kick and the B36 would fit me perfectly!
