Really, anything is wearable you want it to be. I'm going to make a 20s skirt, and that's so out of style it's not even funny. But you got to wear what you love.
I think it would look fine wherever it's appropriate to wear a suit.
I think you should wear what you love, and wear it with moxie! It's amazing what confidence will do to help you carry an outfit off!
And yes, the buttons on the peplum are spiffy. I don't think I've seen another peplum with buttons, ever.
