This morning Skylar and I took a trip up to my favorite place in Georgia: Cleveland. The goal? To pick out two baby Nigora goats.
Nigora goats are a cross between the Nigerian Dwarf and Angora breeds. The result is a small (about pygmy goat size) animal with lovely fiber. I selected two bucks--one cream with blue eyes and the other black with white splotches. Both very, very darling!
I have about 5 weeks to prepare a pen and read up on proper goat (particularly angora) care. I am excited to learn more about harvesting and washing fiber, as well.
