My Wedding: DIY Button Votive Holders

Hello folks!  I almost just apologized for not posting in awhile, but you know what?  I think I have a legitimate excuse.  Ahem...

(I'm working on not apologizing too much.  That is something I am bad about.)

Anyway!

Back two years ago I had big plans to share with you all the great ideas we had for our very DIY, homespun, cozy little wedding.  Well, things got busy and that just never happened.  I was going through some photos today and thought, hey, why not post about this stuff now?  And thus I write this blog post about the really adorable votive holders we made for our reception tables!

It is so simple and inexpensive, and I just love the way they turned out!

Supplies:

-Glass jars (you can use uniform mason jars, or do what I did and find a bunch of mis-matched jars for a more eclectic look)
-Old buttons ( found mine at an estate sale for next to nothing, but you can also find them on Etsy, like this!)
-Votive candles

I don't think I need to explain to you how to put them together. ;)

Add some beautiful hydrangeas and white roses in glass mason jars tied with strips of muslin, white paper tablecloths, and burlap table runners and voila!  A lovely, rustic, cozy, homespun feel for your wedding reception. :)

Ah, memories!  I just loved that day.  Everything about it was precious and beautiful.

I hope you are all having a lovely week!

Speaking of spring/summer wardrobes, I am just itching to start sewing some pieces for mine.  I have been longing to sew for several weeks now, but haven't for a few reasons.  First of all, our house is a disaster.  We have a leak in our basement, and everything that would normally live downstairs is now sitting around in boxes in our living area.  My husband and I both have online businesses, so that means all of our stock is stacked up in the den, basically!  Stress!

The second reason, which perhaps is silly, is that I hesitate to make myself any new clothes until I loose the last little bit of tummy weight I gained with Evelyn.  There is not much at all, but I hate to make myself a dress that I will only be able to wear for a short time.  My chest is much bigger now too, but I figure it's going to be that way for a while, and I can't put off sewing for that long. ;)

The third reason?  Well, I have a 3 month old.  'Nough said, right?

But I digress.  The main thing that I want to sew this spring?

Shirt dresses. :)

How about you?  Do you have any plans for your spring/summer wardrobe?  What is first on your list to make up?

Have a lovely day!

Evelyn's Friend

Evelyn is 11 weeks old today!

She has made herself a really cute friend.  It is a monkey doll from her Great Aunt Kay.  Evelyn loves to look at and talk to her monkey doll.  For some reason she finds it fascinating!  Perhaps it is the stripey arms, friendly face or cute blue bow?

For those of you who enjoy cute babies, here is a video clip of Evvie talking to her monkey.  Enjoy!
