Late 40's Swing Coat

I've been working on a great swing coat for the cold season. Well, at least I hope it will be cold. Perhaps it will get a little chilly...in April. *sigh*

I wear my winter gear regardless of the temperature, suffering through the lukewarm Georgia winter in hopes that one day I will move north and actually NEED to wear my wool coat, scarf, hat and gloves. Ah well, 'tis life!

Anyway, Here are a few pictures of what I have done so far. The coat is almost completed---just needs some sleeve lining. When I'm finished with this one, I am going to make the same pattern out of fleece, with a few variations.

Enjoy the pictures!

This is the coat from the inside....note the lack of sleeve lining.

The coat on moi...Looks good so far! (bad hair day, though)

The front darts look great.

It looks very well done. You could always head west for a visit and make good use of it.

I love this so much that I want to make it as well...What pattern did you use for it?

Hello Sophia,

To be honest with you, I cannot remember the pattern number--and I also cannot find the pattern in my pattern cupboard! If/when I do, I will post it up on the blog. :) It is a great coat, isn't it?
